Credentials

Gregory Caputo is a distinguished Certified Master Carpenter who has been operating his own carpentry business for nearly over 40 years. From his early years , Pennsylvania, Gregory developed a strong work ethic and quality craftsmanship from an early age. His journey into carpentry began with government-sponsored training through the CETA program for trades, followed by vocational education and a four-year apprenticeship program with the National Homebuilders Association in Virginia. His enthusiasm for architecture and craftsmanship flourished during his tenure with Mastercraft Construction in Clifton, VA where he mastered all aspects of home construction, from framing to finish trim while constructing numerous high-end estates.

In the early 1990s, he established Superior Contracting, his own carpentry contracting business in Arlington, Virginia. Despite challenges during a downturn in the real estate and construction markets, Gregory seized an opportunity in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo to expanded into general contracting, focusing on hurricane restorations and high-end builds in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. For over a decade, he immersed himself in hurricane-resistant construction, building a strong reputation for his expertise in constructing resilient structures and roofs to new industry standards safeguarding against hurricane damage and water impacts post-Hurricane Marilyn.  Projects included numerous residential homes and commercial businesses, as well as large-scale resorts at renowned locations like Sapphire Beach Resort, Sapphire Village and Peterborg’s east end. His work extended to his acceptance into the Governor’s Roof Program and numerous FEMA sponsored projects aiding communities devastated by hurricanes, including employing and training a team of over 20 local tradesmen.

With a change in focus to his young family education, Gregory and his family relocated back to his hometown Pennsylvania, where he became a licensed general contractor and exterior renovation specialist. Recognized as an Owens Corning Platinum Roofer, Gregory’s expertise expanded to include residential roofing and hail damage projects as well as commercial renovations/buildouts.

In response to evolving circumstances, Gregory relocated to Jacksonville in 2019, where he currently operates as a licensed and insured carpentry contractor, serving the Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Fernandina Beach areas. Specializing in small to mid-sized carpentry projects, Gregory maintains his hands-on approach to ensure the highest quality workmanship, craftsmanship while continuing to uphold his dedication to his craft, combining decades of experience with a passion for excellence and client satisfaction in every project he undertakes.
